Early next year, The Knocks will deliver their long-anticipated debut album, 55, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring it into the world on Neon Gold alongside our friends at Big Beat and Atlantic. And it’s really fucking something, synthesizing the guys’ influences from all over the map (hip hop, Top 40, alternative and beyond) into the perfect soundtrack for just about every turn up imaginable. The feature list alone is enough to stop you in your tracks: Wyclef Jean, Fetty Wap, Carly Rae Jepsen, Walk The Moon, X Ambassadors, Magic Man… the list goes on. But it’s New York’s finest Cam’ron who kicks everything off on the album’s triumphant opener “New York City”, teased out in the 55 album trailer today as an epic taste of things to come.
