Little is known about them to this point, but fireproof debut single “The Balance” seems primed to sear a hole right through alt radio hearts like the glassy lovechild of Smallpools and early Passion Pit, a veritable sync goldmine from start to finish. It opens earnestly enough, as grandiose, theatrical clap-toned strings pull back the curtains to reveal a synth-kissed romper tailor made for high school mixtapes and teenage road trip dreams with the sun setting in the rear view.
