NEW SHAPES // CMJ 2014

CMJ is cresting over the horizon once again, and that can only mean one thing: it’s time for another round of New Shapes, as we tag team with our brothers from another motherland, Chess Club and National Anthem, for another year of showcasing the finest new talent the world has to offer. Now in its sixth year, our flagship annual showcase features another elite bill of up-and-coming international talent, as we return to our party home away from home, Santos Party House, for another year of double-decker festival action.

Downstairs, we’ve got UK upstarts Nothing But Thieves kicking things off, followed by southwest songbird Zella Day and Chicago guitar heroes Twin Peaks, before the Australian trifecta of Hoodlem, Thief, and George Maple take us deep into the night and Made In Heights cap it all off in the subterranean headline slot. Upstairs, we’re easing into things with Norwegian teen sensation Aurora and Liverpool heatseekers Circa Waves, before a tag-team of Neon Gold darlings kick things into high gear with what’s sure to be one of the buzzier back-to-back sets of the week from VERITE and Cathedrals. Then rounding things out it’s two of Sweden’s biggest superstars-in-waiting as Seinabo Sey and Kate Boy take us into the late night, and live electronic kings Fenech-Soler cap it all off in the grand finale.

It’s all going down October 23rd at Santos, and by now you probably know the drill. Doors open at 6pm, and $10 advance tickets are now available HERE but likely to go fast, with a small amount of $15 tickets to be released on the door day of show, plus limited entry for CMJ badgeholders on a first-come, first-serve basis. These shows get crazy, so come early and stay late to ensure maximum good times. See you there.
