It was only yesterday that we first turned our gaze towards Melbourne’s boundlessly promising Hoodlem and her debut single “Through“, and as if on cue she follows it up with an impressive sophomore single today. Much like “Through”, “Firing Line” is a silent killer that coolly drifts through the walls and builds and builds with kindling calm like a low-key Enter The Void. It’s another unique offering, coming off like an experimental filmic overture with incendiary vocals and hushed instrumental overtones. Right now, Hoodlem’s playing by her own rules and winning, here’s hoping she can keep it up in the months to come.
