GOLD047: WET

Wet are a Brooklyn band with big beats, big hooks and big problems. The Brooklyn three-piece first swept across our radar last spring, and it’s been a whirlwind romance ever since. So it brings us great pleasure to announce our next release on Neon Gold, a special 10″ EP with Wet out CMJ week next month, produced by Wet and our very own Noah Beresin (aka Xaphoon Jones aka Noah Breakfast).

We’ll be rolling out a track a week over the next month, starting today with standout track and EP closer “No Lie”. It’s a slow-burning soul number that tugs at your heartstrings with an undeniable magnetism, as Kelly Zutrau’s midnight vocals melts away into the fever dream of Xaphoon Jones’ starry night production. It’s brings to mind The xx fronted by Solange or at times even Patsy Cline, simultaneously classic and entirely of-the-moment, and this is only the first taste. Get your preorder on HERE ahead of the EP’s October 15th release, and be sure to catch the trio tonight as they open for our beloved MS MR at Webster Hall in a sold-out blaze of glory.
