WHATEVER THAT MEANS.

Kevin Garrett is everyone’s new favorite singer-songwriter. Debut singles “Coloring” and “Control” stirred up a groundswell of early support for the Brooklyn-via-Pittsburgh troubadour, culminating in a Katy Perry co-sign and a publishing deal with Roc Nation, and the buzz is getting deafening on the heels of Garrett’s brilliant run through SXSW. Garrett’s debut EP, Mellow Drama, arrives at last this week, and with it comes brand new cut “Pushing Away”. From the mellow, dramatic piano chords to his show-stopping pipes, “Pushing” is arguably his finest track to date and finds the 23-year old New Yorker channeling a perfect hearts-on-fire cross between James Blake and Sam Smith. Cop Mellow Drama HERE and keep an eye on Garrett in the months to come, this one feels very very real.
