Our dearly beloved Alex Winston hinted at big things on the horizon with comeback stunner “101 Vultures” last fall, and today we get another taste of things to come with the live unveiling of a new anthem-in-waiting, “Houdini”. Filmed as part of Wild Honey Pie‘s On The Mountain series – which also includes a nigh-on religious rendition of “Vultures” – “Houdini” rides a triumphant synth riff to one of Winston’s most overpowering choruses to date, as serpentine cautionary tale verses slither throughout. It’s a perfect introduction to one of our favorite songs of the year; be sure to keep an eye out for the forthcoming studio version in the months to come.
